Our Story
Go back

Pat's restuarant had been owned and operated by three generations of the Hines Family since 1945.

It all began in 1943, when Harry K. and Ellen Hines bought the burnt out shell of Pat's Restaurant and Bar. They rebuilt it and reopened it in June of 1945. It was still called Pat's because the neon shamrock Pat's sign had survived the 1943 fire and because this took place during World War II, there were no new neon signs being made - all manufacturing was being directed into the war effort. Therefore, it remained Pat's Restaurant and Bar under the same name continuously since 1940. Harry K. Jr. and Josephine Hines moved to Guerneville and took over the business in 1946 and inherited the property in 1956. They sold the business and property to their son Richard K. Hines in 1971. Richard and his wife Donna have owned and operated Pat's from 1971 til the present time.
